Tech Talk: Prime Time Television Line-Up For Fall

Here are the new shows for the Fall 2010 prime-time television programming (on major networks).

Monday Nights

Mike & Molly: The romance of teacher Molly Flynn and Chicago police officer Mike Biggs, who fall in love when they meet an an Overeaters Anonymous meeting. CBS

Hawaii 5-O: An elite police task force in Hawaii headed by a decorated naval officer probes high-level crimes. The series is a reboot of the classic Jack Lord crime drama of the 1970s. CBS

Lone Star: Drama centered on a second-generation con man who's trying to go straight while still juggling two identities---and two women, in different parts of Texas. FOX

The Event: An ordinary man's probe into his girlfriend's disappearance leads him to uncover a conspiracy of untold dimensions, inadvertently affecting the newly elected U.S. president, the leader of a group of mysterious detainees and the detainee leader's father. NBC

Chase: Action-adventure drama about a fugitive-apprehension team of U.S. Marshals tracking down notorious criminals in the American Southwest. NBC

Tuesday Nights

No Ordinary Family: A typical family has special abilities. ABC

Detroit 1-8-7: A crime drama that follows the men and women of Detroit PD's homicide unit, which includes a driven veteran paired with a young cop, a sexy detective who's the department's rising star and a veteran whose eye is on his impending retirement. ABC

Raising Hope: 23 year old Jimmy Chance adjusts to life as a single father in this comedy about a new addition to an extended dysfunctional family. FOX

Running Wilde: A wealthy playboy tries to woo his childhood sweetheart, who's now a devoted humanitarian. FOX

Wednesday Nights

Better With You: A sitcom about the relationships among three couples from one family. They include an unmarried pair who've lived together for nine years and the woman's parents, a longtime married duo. ABC

The Whole Truth: New York courtroom drama told equally from the perspectives of the prosecution and defense (the leaders of the two teams were classmates at Yale law school) as they build their cases. ABC

The Defenders: Two flashy Las Vegas defense attorneys go to the mat for their clients. CBS

Hellcats: Based on the book Cheer: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders, the series follows the life of a pre-law college student who has to join the cheerleading team, the Hellcats, in order to maintain her scholarship. CW

Undercovers: A married pair of retired spies return to the world of espionage, this time as partners, while also running a catering company in this action-adventure series. NBC

Law & Order: Los Angeles: Terrence Howard has been added to the franchise Law & Order, which will take place in Los Angeles, CA. As with the original series, the first half hour of the show focuses on the police investigation of a crime discovered in the cold open; the second half takes place at the Los Angeles District Attorney's office and focuses on the prosecution of the criminal suspect(s). NBC

Thursday Nights

My Generation: A drama about a group of former high-school classmates who reconnect a decade after graduation and are revisited by a documentary crew who first filmed them back when they were eager to graduate. ABC

$#*! My Dad Says: Sitcom based on Justin Halpern's popular Twitter feed about guy in his 20s who moves back home with his perennially grumpy father (William Shatner). CBS

Nikita: Base on the the movie La Femme Nikita, this series is about a spy emerges from hiding to seek revenge on a clandestine government agency that betrayed her after rescuing her as a teen and training her to be an assassin. CW

Outsourced: The Movie Outsourced is coming to television. An American manager at a novelties company heads up a call center in India in this comedy series. While he takes steps to adapt to his new home, his employees also learn about American culture through the products they're selling. NBC

Friday Nights

Secret Millionaire: Millionaires give back in this unscripted series, which follows well-to-do folks as they live and work (for the minimum wage) anonymously alongside the less fortunate before identifying themselves and giving a deserving recipient at least $100,000. Remake of a British show. FOX

Body of Proof: Dr. Megan Hunt, a medical examiner, struggles to balance the demands of her professional life with her personal life. ABC

Blue Bloods: A New York crime drama focusing on a multi-generational family of cops that includes the city's police commissioner, his two sons and his retired father. CBS

School Pride: Actress Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm) goes behind the camera to produce a makeover show aimed at LA's inner-city schools. NBC

Outlaw: A legal drama about a Supreme Court justice who quits his post and returns to private practice, crisscrossing the country to handle controversial legal cases. A playboy and a gambler, the legal expert works with his team, which includes a childhood friend and liberal-minded attorney, an earnest law clerk, a lively private investigator, and an ambitious newbie with a conservative streak. NBC
