Apostle Islands Shipwrecks & Archaeology

The Bayfield Heritage Association will present a program on Underwater Archeology today at 2 p.m. at the Bayfield Heritage Center. "Attendees should bring their own air and be prepared to get cold and wet," jokes National Park Service Archeologist, David Cooper, describing his program. He will examine some famous Apostle Island shipwrecks including the Lucerne, Pretoria, and Sevona. This program of the thirty-fifth year of the Bayfield Heritage Association is the second in the 2012 program series. The next BHA program: Booth Fisheries - C.W. Turner's Eastern Apostle Island Adventure will be held Sunday, March 25th. Programs are held at the Bayfield Heritage Center, a handicapped accessible building and followed by the usual BHA refreshments. All programs at the Bayfield Heritage Center are open to the public.
