Jauch Response To Recall Effort Annoucement

Editor's Note: The following statement is a response from Sen. Bob Jauch (D-Poplar) upon the announcement that a group is looking into a recall of Jauch.

It is strange that a Milwaukee-based organization wants to create a political action committee to raise funds to decide who represents northern Wisconsin. Milwaukee already has 25 legislators representing Milwaukee County but apparently that is not enough.

While I don’t know the citizens of the Milwaukee organization that are exploring this recall effort they know even less about me and my efforts to serve the needs, concerns and priorities of the citizens who live 330 miles north of where they live.

What I do know is they are completely misinformed regarding my record. They are a conservative organization that doesn’t want to help the north but rather simply wants to meddle in the politics of a district that they know nothing about.

They are clearly misinformed regarding my efforts over the past seven months to encourage the Legislature to review Wisconsin mining legislation. I have taken a leadership role to encourage the Legislature to openly deliberate our mining law. But I don’t think they care about the truth.

This is an out of touch organization who doesn’t care about the north, doesn’t care about public policy and are only interested in meddling in the lives of people they have never met.
